If you are dealing with a loved one who has dementia, you will want someone well trained with skills that deal with that particular ailment. Match the needs you have to the skills of the caregiver in order to get the best care for your loved one’s specific needs.

Some people click with your loved ones and others may not. It takes a certain personality type to get along well with the person in your life who needs a caregiver. It is a good idea to have your caregiver prospects visit with your loved one in order to see whether or not they get along well. Does the caregiver listen carefully to what your loved one has to say? Do they respond in kind and act in a respectful manner? Getting the two together will give you a good idea whether or not they have the chemistry necessary to make a friendship out of their necessary relationship.
